Three Troublesome Pastors
Three California pastors, all generals in the spiritual battle over truth and righteousness, took their influence to the nation’s capital as Church United hosted another Awakening Tour, this time in conjunction with the second annual National Gathering of Prayer and Repentance.
The prayer gathering, which included members of Congress, was held at a landmark location celebrating The Word — the Museum of the Bible.
During the gathering, Senior Pastors Mike McClure, of Calvary Chapel San Jose, Che Ahn, of Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena, and Art Hodges, of South Bay United Pentecostal Church in Chula Vista, openly repented on behalf of our nation.
All three pastors have become prominent role models for their willingness to defend the faith in the midst of government interference, demonstrating fearlessness — no matter the earthly consequences or punishment. Those consequences included hefty financial fines and potential criminal charges.
In the cases of Pastors Ahn and Hodges, their separate stands against COVID-19 mandates targeting their congregations resulted in victories through the U.S. Supreme Court which, in essence, blocked governmental bullying of churches. Pastor McClure, though, is still on the hook for millions of dollars in fines, despite not a single case of COVID contracted through worship services at his church.
Church United is grateful for the staunch witness of these three pastors. To see more about their stories, click here to see interviews I had with them while in Washington, D.C. You will be encouraged!
