Water of Life Church Feeding & Free Medical Clinics

Senior Pastor Dan Carroll shares the heart of River of Life Community Church to care for the poor and marginalized. April 23, 2020.

Keep your stories of serving your communities coming! It's been so exciting sharing kingdom stories across California! This next Church United relationship began in 2018 as Pastor Dan Carroll and I first met over the phone during AB 2943. I've really appreciated Dan's heart to connect with those who do not know Jesus...yet!

Here are two areas Water of Life Community Church in Fontana serves their community.

Food for Families & Homeless

Water of Life Community Church has been feeding the poor for years prior to the COVID0-19 Crisis. Their food pantry through CityLink Mobile Food Distribution occurs every Wednesday and Thursday. Below are a few bullet points to give you a better understanding of the quantities they provide during a feeding day:

  • 28-40 volunteers

  • 2,200 bags of food packed to be given away

  • 500-550 households served (4 grocery bags of food each)

  • 70 Senior adults had bags of groceries delivered to their home

  • 35 homeless served non-perishable food bags and hygiene kits

Water of Life also provides to over 1,260 households through other churches in their community: Life Point Church, Shalom Ministries, Loveland, The Way, Hero’s Church, Conduit of Grace, Abundant Living and Bethel Christian Fellowship.

Mobile Medical Clinics

There are only four free medical clinics in San Bernardino County and Water of Life Church provides medical services to the poor at no cost to the patient. Because of Covid-19, these clinics have had to close temporarily due to the inability to serve the poor without the proper personal protection equipment. Therefore, they decided to convert their clinics to COVID-19 testing sites and assist their County in reporting and helping the marginalized get proper testing and treatment if necessary.

They also brought and gave 500 KN95 masks for Kaiser testing nurses who did not have them and thanked Kaiser medical workers by donating 350 Starbucks Iced Coffees and providing masks to their local area hospitals.

Water of Life has exhibited what it looks like to be an

essential

and active member of their community by partnering with non-profit, government and  businesses alike.

The church created a $200,000 stimulus account to help feed people and help other churches, seniors, the poor, and feeding people in India, Cambodia, Kenya, and other countries impacted by the virus.

Pastor Dan, thank you for reaching out to Church United as our heart is to serve you as you serve your community and foster relationships with your San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.

For God's kingdom,

Jim
