Trump's Christ-Centered Easter Message

I know Church United pastors represent a full-spectrum of opinions on the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. I've heard many of them from you! The Apostle Paul in First Timothy asks us to pray for those in authority and that also includes Governor Gavin Newsom! I am also reminded of what one of the disciples told Jesus in Luke 9:49, "Master," said John, "we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him because he is not one of us."
That's right Pastor! President Trump is not one of us - he's not a pastor - he's our President but Trump proclaimed the gospel message on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Any wonder why the forces of darkness desire to thwart everything he does?
Do you remember Jesus' response to John, "Do not stop him," Jesus replied, "for whoever is not against you is for you." Luke 9:50 (NIV)
You can read the Presidential Statement sent on Easter Sunday from the White House at the end of this email.
Here are some quotes from President Trump's Good Friday's message with Bishop Harry Jackson:
“On this Good Friday, Christians from all around the world remember the suffering and death upon the cross of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. At Easter Sunday, we will celebrate His glorious resurrection.
“Though we will not be able to gather together with one another as we normally would on Easter, we can use this sacred time to focus on prayer, reflection, and growing in our personal relationship with God.
“I ask all Americans to pray that God will heal our nation; to bring comfort to those who are grieving; to give strength to the doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers; to restore health to the sick; and to renew the hope in every person who is suffering.”
It's three days after Easter and I believe we are experiencing the inklings of a 4th Great Awakening in America. More to share on this topic soon.
For Christ our King! The King of kings and the Lord of lords,
Jim
P.S. I've met Bishop Jackson and have heard him preach multiple times! He's a mighty man of God!

Presidential Message on Easter, 2020
Melania and I join millions of Christians celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal life this Easter. Although this year’s observance of Easter comes during a somber time for our Nation, we hope all of you are filled with the joy, love, and hope that marks this holiest of days.
As our Nation has faced the unique challenges posed by the coronavirus during the past few weeks, we have turned to God for guidance, comfort, and hope. Throughout this difficult period, we have witnessed the core tenets of Christianity—love, compassion, and kindness—reflected in the many acts of courage, generosity, and caring of the American people. Our country’s citizens have taken to heart the words of 1 Peter 4:10: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” Countless Americans have selflessly answered the calls for help in their communities and have performed extraordinary acts to help their neighbors in times of need. Healthcare workers and medical professionals have worked tirelessly to heal the sick, and thousands of volunteers, first responders, critical workers, and businesses have contributed their time and resources to help defeat this virus.
No matter the circumstances, we will always celebrate Easter as a time of rejuvenation, rebirth, and a renewed sense of purpose and faith. The coronavirus will not stop Easter. Even in the darkest hours, God’s abundant love and mercy are unwavering. The light of Christ will always triumph over the trials and tribulations we face because He has defeated death. Today, let us take a little extra time to pray for the strength of our country and our people, and ask that God hold all Americans in the palm of His hand. Together, let us rejoice in knowing that Christ has risen.
We send our best wishes for a blessed and joyous Easter.
