Joni Table Talk show "Sexual Identity Part 6."
In a season of government-forced shutdowns and "thou-shall-nots," the Lord is still having His way. He is on the move and His blessings over Church United are no exception. Over the summer, my wife, Amanda, and I were invited by Daystar TV to share the story of Church United and our continuing work highlighting the fundamental truth that—through the transformational power of Jesus Christ—sexual identity can be healed.
With Daystar’s potential audience of more than 100 million globally, this was a really big deal, and it confirms God’s miraculous hand over our ministry and its commitment to transform culture.
Our hosts, Marcus and Joni Lamb, were so taken with Church United’s message of redemption that they offered us three, yes three, different shows to detail how God is working in our midst.
Our first interview, which appeared on the couple’s show Ministry Now (Pictured and linked above), aired several weeks ago.
Our second interview will air on the Daystar TV network this Thursday, Oct. 22 on the Joni Table Talk show. The third interview — with Jonathan and Suzy Lamb — will air on The Green Room. An air date has not yet been set.
Our first 30 minute interview covered a wide range of topics, from one of Church United's Washington D.C. Awakening tours featuring 157 California pastors in Washington, D.C. to gathering on the steps of the Sacramento Capitol, an event that drew 12,000 people last month.
Perhaps the most meaningful segment for me was the opportunity for viewers to hear Amanda discuss our life’s work in a dramatic testimony of God’s redeeming touch. For years she has supported the mission and vision of Church United from behind the scenes, and I was thrilled the world was able to see this amazing woman of faith.
Toward the end of the show, host Marcus became teary-eyed as he talked about our family photo, which had been previewed at the beginning of the program. He asked the production desk to show it again, saying the following thought was "so strong" on his heart:
“Jim, if you hadn’t chosen the right thing, look what you would have missed out on. That beautiful family, this wonderful wife, those adorable children and, one day, grandchildren,” he said, turning his attention back to the viewers and looking directly into the camera as his voice cracked. “So I'm telling you, if you’ll make a righteous choice, God will help you. He loves you. He understands what you're going through more than anybody else.”
The hosts then allowed me—a once broken man, hell-bent on pursuing a lifestyle I knew to be wrong—to close out the show by speaking directly to the audience and praying over those who might be struggling with their sexual identity.
Folks, these are the moments that can only be created by God. They are real. They are transformative. They are eternal.
Would you consider a one-time gift to Church United?
In His grace and truth,
Jim & Amanda
