California Reaps Global Attention
Did God really say that?
California will become the first state in the nation to require large retailers to include “gender neutral” toy aisles and childcare items beginning in 2024. Fines for noncompliance start at $200, with repeat violations costing $500 for each infraction. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the bill into law last Monday, October 11.
The specialized “gender” section requires retailers to supplement their toy department with a “reasonable selection” of items “regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or for boys.”
Thankfully, no confusion with our 7-year-old daughter. Just last week she drew our family, and everyone was the correct sex! Pink for the girls and blue for the boys. Even the clothing indicated the correct biological sex. Still not sure how we all ended up with black hair, though.
The text of AB 1084, authored by Assemblyman Evan Low, a Democrat from Cupertino, argued the separation of toys by biological sex promotes “unjustified differences” and “makes it more difficult for the consumer to compare the products and incorrectly implies that their use by one gender is inappropriate.”
But the real motivation came directly from Low himself, who in a statement said, “The segregation of toys by a social construct of what is appropriate for which gender is the antithesis of modern thinking."
The true social construct, however, is this notion of “gender,” a myth used by modern thinkers to justify morally inappropriate behavior. Scripture is clear about God’s intentions for mankind.
“Let Us create man in Our image … God created man in His own image in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them.”

Did God really say that?
Does that question sound like a familiar voice of old? It should. It was the question that the cunning serpent used in the garden to trick Eve and Adam. Look how he continues that deception today in our government and throughout humanity. From the fall of humankind, the world has been at war with its Creator. The California legislature is one of Satan’s favorite tools to continue the mêlée to force a confused agenda through the homosexual, lesbian and “gender” fluid movement.
No matter how they massage and manipulate language, there are only two sexes, male and female. This latest move by the governor is another attempt to normalize the LGBT agenda at every turn. Mindful of the onslaught, my wife and I have not watched TV in over a decade in an effort to keep inappropriate content from the eyes of our children. Now we will also have to monitor their exposure in the local department store.
Although California laws, public education, and secular media may promote ideologies contrary to Scripture (and some churches for that matter), let me encourage you to continue to speak God’s Word in truth, grace and love.
With God’s guidance, we can play offense and defense at the same time.
